2012 update

I am currently in my first semester in the Teacher Education program at Fort Hays State University.  With this comes an extremely crazy and hectic schedule, but also the best part of my education because I actually get to be in the classroom working with students.  I just started my first internship at an elementary school in a town 30 miles from Hays.  I go twice a week to a kindergarten class to help with reading and language arts lessons.  I have an amazing mentor teacher and I am getting a lot of time working one-on-one with students.  I know that I am going into the right profession.  I am going to truly love teaching, just as my mom did.  I have only been in my internship for about a month, but I am thoroughly enjoying this experience.

I would once again like to thank everyone who has contributed to this scholarship fund.  You have all helped with my education in more ways than one and I will be forever grateful for your faith in me.
