Allie
Allie is from Olathe, KS and graduated at the top of her class from Olathe North High School. Allie played varsity soccer and basketball in high school, and was involved with the National Honor Society. Allie lost her dad, Scott, to pancreatic cancer in fall of 2020, during the height of the pandemic, when she was 13 years old. Some of Allie’s favorite memories of her dad revolve around sports as he was highly involved in her sports teams and helped to make her a strong athlete. Since her dad’s passing, Allie feels like she has grown as a more supportive friend and has been able to support a close friend after she experienced a death in her own family. She plans to attend Missouri University of Science and Technology to study Architectural Engineering.
Kaycee is from Hays, KS and graduated from Ellis High School. Kaycee was raised with 4 older sisters and moved from upstate New York to Hays for her dad’s job at Fort Hays State University. Kaycee lost her mom, Kristi, to a non-small cell adenocarcinoma, when she was 14 years old. Kaycee credits her mom for her love of baking, as her mom gifted her a cake decorating kit for her 14th birthday, and in her grief Kaycee pursued baking. She has built her own small business in her community and plans to study Food Science at Kansas State University to pursue that passion. Kaycee is excited to attend her parent’s alma mater and continue baking!
