Kelly Lynn Lutz Memorial Scholarship Foundation

providing scholarships to students who have lost a parent to cancer

Kelly was a teacher by training, a loving stay-at-home mother, and a strong supporter of her husband. She fought cancer valiantly for nine years, all the while caring for her family, supporting her community and teaching us all the value of each and every moment. With Kelly’s passing in May 2008, her family and friends knew the best way to honor her memory was through continued life, education and support for those that cancer has left behind.

The KLL Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to help kids who have lost a parent to cancer pursue and attain their dreams of a college education.  Only one year from Kelly’s passing the Foundation awarded its first scholarship. .

With the donations made to date, the Foundation expects to be able to award one four year scholarship each year to help offset the cost of tuition for deserving young students. With continued support, we can do more.

True to Kelly’s dedicated spirit, the long-term goal of the KLL Memorial Scholarship Foundation is to go beyond financial aid. While still in its infancy, our goal is to build a thriving community based on love and learning, that helps these precious spirits deal with their loss, grow in their new life and learn to appreciate the gifts that are so evident.

This vision includes expanding the scholarship awards program and building innovative education and support programs that help children understand cancer and come to accept what Kelly taught all who knew her… to value each day and cherish the time you have with loved ones.
